Vendor: Swede Point Creamery

Location: 1659 334th Road Madrid, IA, 50156

Since immigrating from Sweden in the 1800’s, the Olson family has raised livestock and farmed
land near Madrid - which originally was named Swede Point. Our Grandmother, Ellen Olson, was
known for her artisan butter making in the 1920s and 1930s. During the 1940s-1960s, the family
milked cows and sold cream. At that time a cream truck collected cream from the local farms and
would then haul it to a creamery for processing.
Today, owner Paula Olson has established Swede Point Creamery featuring goat cheeses and several
varieties of chèvre. All products are made in small batches to ensure quality and flavor.
We strive to produce goat cheese that provides the down to basic healthy goodness found in low
temperature pasteurization. Our family and visitors to Swede Point Creamery enjoy watching the
playful antics of our milking ladies and their kids as they frolic and play at our farm.

Anything from Swede Point Creamery this week?
